The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities has a long history. Over the years, the department has been headed by scientists: Associate Professor S.O. Omarov, Associate Professor L.A. Umirzakova, Ph.D., Professor N.Sagadiev, Ph.D., Associate Professor A.K.Zakiryanov, Ph.D. ass.professor H.T.Tukenova. Currently, the head of the department is Ph.D., Associate Professor K.K. Rysbekov.

The staff of the department teaches students and undergraduates in social and humanitarian disciplines in all educational programs. The training is conducted in Kazakh, Russian, and English. Currently, the department employs 27 faculty members. Among them are the teaching staff with academic degrees: Doctor of Sciences - 2, Candidate of Sciences – 9, PhD–3, assistant Master-12.

The Department of "Social and Humanitarian Disciplines" trains highly qualified specialists.

Basic training courses

Bachelor's degree:

  • History of Kazakhstan

  • Module of socio-political knowledge
  • Fundamentals of anti-corruption culture
  • Module of economic, legal and environmental knowledge (Fundamentals of economics, entrepreneurship, fundamentals of law and anti-corruption culture, ecology and life safety)

Master's degree:

  • History and philosophy of science
  • Psychology of management
  • Pedagogy of higher school

 Training of highly qualified, competitive specialists based on the achievements of modern science and practice, through continuous improvement of competence and development of creative initiative.

To provide objective historical knowledge about the main stages of the History of Kazakhstan, to bring to the consciousness of students the essence of the fundamental problems of history, to teach them scientific methods of historical knowledge, to form in them a scientific worldview and civic position.

To teach students to analyze philosophical, political, social and cultural phenomena and processes occurring in the state and society. To promote the correct and competent use of acquired knowledge by students in the professional field.​​​​​
